The Copr Bay North Car Park will open to motorists on Monday July 13, bringing 628 parking spaces to Swansea city centre – a net increase of more than 250 spaces in the area.
The seven-storey car park includes:

  • Standard parking bays
  • Accessible parking
  • Electric vehicle charging bays
  • Motorcycle spaces

Plus, it’s part of our 1-2-3-4-5 parking offer:

  • £1 an hour for up to five hours
  • Maximum £5 for up to 24 hours (Mondays to Saturdays)
  • £2 all day on Sundays

The entrance will be on Albert Row.

As Copr Bay North opens, the St David’s multi-storey car park will close on the same day (Monday July 13).

That 375-space car park will then be demolished to make way for the next phase of regeneration, helping transform this part of the city centre.

Cllr Andrew Stevens, Swansea Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment and Infrastructure, said: “We know that residents, visitors and businesses want more city centre parking, and they want it to be affordable.

“That’s why we’ve invested in this new facility, creating even more parking spaces than were previously available while ensuring prices remain highly competitive compared with other towns and cities across the UK. This means we will continue with some of the cheapest city centre parking in the country.”

Cllr Rob Stewart, Swansea Council Leader, said: “Our ambition is to create a vibrant link between the city centre, the bridge and Swansea Arena, and the completion of this car park is another important step towards achieving that vision.

“Further announcements will be made in the coming weeks about plans for the former St David’s Shopping Centre site.

“These plans will bring significantly more people into the area, helping to create the footfall needed to attract new shops and other businesses.”
Existing season ticket holders at the St David’s car park will be relocated to Copr Bay North from the opening date. LC permit holders at the Copr Bay South car park will relocate on Monday August 3.

All permit holders will be contacted directly with further information.

The development has been delivered by Swansea Council, with RivingtonHark acting as development manager. Andrew Scott Ltd has completed the finishing works after the original contractor went into administration.
